Workshop Descriptions


Aspiring Nurse Leader Workshop:

One-day workshop designed for staff nurses, charge nurses, nurse coordinators, nurse managers and directors who aspire to greater heights in their career. Includes overview of AONE and ANCC certifications. During this workshop, attendees will learn successful nurse leadership skills, the importance of serving on a Board of Directors, resources available for future nurse leaders, successful communication techniques, and how to work with generational differences.



Midwest Institute for Healthcare Leadership:

Full-day workshop for managers and directors in any healthcare role—including CNOs and CEOs—this program is designed to teach essential business techniques to demonstrate how these techniques can be applied within the healthcare field in Illinois. This full-day program focuses on key topics related to the future of healthcare management in a rapidly transforming delivery system.



Finance Workshop:

Full-Day Finance Workshop – The Frontline Nurse Leader’s Role in Creating and Implementing the Financial Plan is a one-day workshop is designed for staff nurses, charge nurses, nurse coordinators, nurse managers and directors who want to learn more about specific financial topics related to nursing administration. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to create an operating unit budget, develop tools for monitoring financial performance, apply knowledge of budgetary concepts and terminology, calculate a return on investment, describe value-based purchasing, and the understand what a successful partnership between nurse and finance leaders looks like.
