Presenter: Janet Palutke, RN, MSN Administrative Director, Nursing Support Services Valley Health System, Winchester, VA
Title: Reducing Non-clinical Tasks from Nurses An encore presentation of the AONE 2010
Concurrent Session
Description: With the demands placed on today's nurses and the increasing expectations of patients, introducing strategies to reduce the workload of nurses and drive higher levels of patient engagement are an important part of today's patient care strategies. This session will explore how GetWellNetwork's Interactive Patient Care was coordinated with hospital support services at Winchester Medical Center and how the strategy has impacted not only patient engagement and quality results, but also has been effectives in reducing the number of nursing call lights for non-clinical tasks. The presentation also will define how the bedside technology aligns and builds upon the work conducted by AONE and ARAMARK Healthcare around nursing satisfaction with support services in the clinical setting over the past three years.
