License Renewal for Illinois RNs, APRNs and FPA-APRNs

The biennial license renewal for Illinois RNs, APRNs and FPA-APRNs will begin early March 2026.  License renewal is every-other-year, even numbered years. In Spring 2026, the Illinois actively licensed nurses will receive an email from IDFPR informing them when the license renewal portal will be open, that they will need to pay the fee, answer a few questions and renew their license online.  This is the time Illinois licensed nurses will also be able to use the “License Renewals” icon on the IDFPR Nurses page https://idfpr.illinois.gov/profs/nursing.html   License renewal generally continues through May 31, 2026.  This is also when the Illinois Nursing Workforce Center will offer Illinois licensed nurses the opportunity to participate in a short survey, 5-7 minutes.  All data is reported in aggregate and kept confidential.

Address: To make sure that you receive the IDFPR/Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation email informing you to renew your license, please update your address.
