IONL Mid-Year Conference March 17-18, 2011 Doubletree Hotel Bloomington
Purpose: This conference will focus on national policy changes that will impact
nurse leaders in Illinois. The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE)
policy agenda and the impact at the state level will begin the dialogue.
Followed by an exploration of the newly
developed Consensus
Model for APRN Regulation and the Framework for the Regulation of Advanced
Practice Registered Nurses that is being espoused by the National Council of
State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). NCSBN next national policy agenda focuses on
the APRN License Compact. The
establishment of the National Alliance for Quality Care (NAQC) is based on the
assumption that only with a stronger, more unified nursing policy ”voice” will
dramatic and sustainable achievements in quality and safety for the American
public be achieved. Learn how Illinois quality data integrates into this
national alliance funded by RWJ. And finally, IONL leadership will lead a panel to discuss initiatives IONL might
consider supporting or designing which accelerate implementation of the
recommendations in the IOM’s Future of
Nursing report.
