Title: The Emotional Intelligence of Front-line Nurse Managers
Description: The Emotional Intelligence of Front-line Nurse Managers will report the results of a quantitative descriptive study of Front-line Nurse Managers in urban, suburban and rural acute care facilities in Illinois. The value of Emotional Intelligence leadership to the organizational culture will be discussed.
Objectives:
- Differentiate between the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso ability model of
Emotional intelligence, trait models,
& competency models
- Identify value of higher emotional intelligence
for front-line nurse managers.
- Discuss
study results of emotional intelligence measures with front-line nurse
manager characteristics
- Identify implications of emotional intelligence of frontline manages study
results for practice
This
continuing nursing education activity was submitted for approval to the Illinois
